hey there- i'm doing a Portal Companion Cube cosplay for Saturday DragonCon & was wondering if i could march with you guys in the parade?? I'm already signed up for the parade but for the Star Trek section... but i had to rearrange costume days to accommodate for some other group costumes... so i still want to march! Okay - I feel super-bad for missing this but I admit that I don't check in to DA nearly as often as I should.

So, not-a-spoiler: we weren't in the Parade. In fact, we couldn't even get in the Con. I spent 6 months+ trying to get a room someplace at least -near- the main hotels with no luck whatsoever. I've been an Eternal Member for almost 10yrs now and have been going to Dragon since 1992. This is only the second time I've missed it and I'm -not- happy about it.

Fast-Forward to now: again, no room. Several friends on FaceBook posted about stalking rooms when the blocks opened up but none, not a one, would book an extra for me (I nearly had myself an UN-Friend party...). So the countdown is on once again to see if I can source a room somewhere in/near the convention for 2013.

So... IF we can get a room we -will- be there and bringing our portable Portal party along with us once again (with some fun new updates thanks to new equipment we've gotten in our shop). Until then... it's a whole lot of hoping for the best.
